We combine world leading process and flow assurance simulators and enhance these tools capabilities by using our own Apps for Process Simulations™ to ensure conservative  and sound evaluations that ensures plant integrity, but also allow for maximum production within the limits of your facility.
Scenarios are screeened and calculated in accordance with industry standards such as API Std 521. Examples are inadvertant valve opening, choke failure, gas blow by and blocked outlet.
Based on BPT’s experience from numerous studies, several benefits have been observed by using integrated process and flow assurance simulations rather than stand-alone OLGA simulations for overpressure protection & choke failure studies.

Improved Capabilites

Modeling topside process segments more rigorously, such as the inlet arrangement piping geometry, valves, separators, controllers and logics.

Dynamic Response

More realistic pressure response by including boundary systems, such as other flowlines tied to the common manifold systems as well as the relief system and other downstream systems.

Improved Understanding

Assess relief scenarios with multiple header systems – capture effects of time lag from various relief sources into the header system. Dynamic PSV response calculated according to API Std 520.

Overall Effects

Improved understanding of the resulting effects during fail opening/choke failure scenarios. More realistic scenarios and the dynamic model is physically replicating the actual design better.
