Enhancing Operational Knowledge for Handling Normal and Abnormal Situations

In brief:

The Operator Training System (OTS) was meticulously configured by a collaborative team comprising specialists from ABB and BPT. The core setup included simulator versions of the ABB process control system and HIMA safety system linked to a dedicated instructor and field operator station. The training simulator environment utilized an industry-standard first-principle plant-specific dynamic process simulator model with comprehensive thermodynamic capabilities.

The Dunkerque OTS was developed using the same methodology and technology employed for the Zeebrugge (Zeepipe) OTS, which was successfully delivered by ABB and BPT in 2021. The Dunkerque OTS project was completed in 2022.
